Oil & Gas
Utah (Uinta Basin) regulates oil and gas through a registration/permit-by-rule system and equipment-specific rules in the R307-500 series: general provisions (501), pneumatic controllers (502), flares (503), tank truck loading (504), registration (505), storage vessels (506), dehydrators (507), VOC control devices (508), LDAR (509), natural gas engines (510), and associated gas flaring (511). Most oil and gas sources are minor or exempt small sources. Sources in Indian Country (much of the Uinta Basin) are permitted by EPA Region 8.
Oil and Gas Registration (Permit by Rule)
Registration / NoticeOne-time registration with DAQ for oil and gas sources on lands under state jurisdiction. Filing fee: $2,000 controlled site, $1,000 uncontrolled site. Registrants with uncontrolled actual emissions above one ton per year of any single pollutant file emission inventories (annual or triennial under R307-150) using the PBR workbook.
