Hawaii Air Permits

Hawaii DOH's Clean Air Branch requires an Air Pollution Control Permit before constructing, reconstructing, modifying, or operating a stationary air pollution source or control equipment, except as provided in HAR 11-60.1-62 and 11-60.1-82. Permits are either Covered Source Permits (major sources and sources subject to federal NSPS, NESHAP, or PSD; Hawaii's Title V-equivalent program) or Noncovered Source Permits (all other sources). Both have initial, renewal, temporary, general, modification, and transfer actions. Agricultural burning permits are also issued.
