Alabama Air Permits

ADEM's Air Division issues minor source construction permits, PSD and nonattainment NSR permits, Synthetic Minor Operating Permits (SMOP), and Title V Major Source Operating Permits (MSOP) statewide, except where Jefferson County and the City of Huntsville run local permit programs. ADEM has not established a list of exempt source types or sizes; the need for a permit is decided case by case.
